Overview

Although the room is what you'd call western - featuring twin single western bedding - the room retains the traditional Japanese design that it so characteristic of the hotel.

Each room features gorgeous warm tones, plenty of natural materials and stunning décor that work together to create a tranquil, inviting and comfortable atmosphere.

The room also features a small tatami flooring area featuring a traditional dining space, and also has some basic tea/coffee making facilities included.

There is an attached ensuite bathroom, heating and air-conditioning and an LCD television to ensure your stay is comfortable, and all guests are welcomed to use other facilities and amenities in the hotel.

Overview

Oyado Furuya is renowned for its incredible Japanese décor and architecture, sparing no expense the make each guest's experience an immersive one.

Paying homage to tradition throughout the hotel, Oyado Furuya offers travellers a stunning and luxurious experience of local culture and combines it with modern comfort.

The hotel has plenty of history, and despite the renovations and upgrades that have come with time, this authenticity can be felt and seen everywhere in the hotel. Traditional rice paper dividers are used throughout, as are natural materials like timber and stone.

They are very large by Japanese standards, and all of the amenities are modern, while the rooms themselves are immaculately well kept. Some of these rooms also feature large private open-air onsens, making them an ideal choice for those looking for an opulent getaway experience while here.

There are also ski drying and storage rooms provided for skiers, and the exceptionally helpful staff are always ready to help you organise day trips or explorations of the area.

The restaurant at Oyado Furuya offers a variety of Japanese dishes for breakfast and dinner as well as a café located in the lobby that serve their own blend of coffee in the morning and afternoon.

Even if you're not staying here, a visit for the dinner - and perhaps a peel at the incredible design - will definitely be worth it.


Oyado Furuya Onsen

Onsen

Oyado Furuya has its own indoor onsens for public use, both of which are incredibly large and luxurious.

One onsen is situated in a stone-floored room lined by large windows and the other is a rare tatami-buro, a natural onsen surrounded by tatami flooring. 

While one is open for women, the other is open for men, meaning everyone gets to experience the beauty of both.

Both onsens are naturally heated and mineralized, and the heated water also heats the floors throughout the room, providing an incredibly relaxing and tranquil space for guests to take advantage of.
