Overview

Himecho is a historic machiya-style townhouse, unique in Nozawa Onsen, and accommodates families or groups comfortably.

Himecho’s five simple, comfortable rooms are typical of bedrooms in a traditional village house. Two of the bedrooms have an ensuite bathroom. There are two additional bathrooms with shower, toilet and sink and a fith bathroom with bath, toilet and sink.

You’ll be sleeping on futons on tatami, although your futons will be built up for a softer feel as generally preferred by our non-Japanese guests. All bedrooms are spacious and bright spaces.

Enjoy family games and chilling out as a group in our comfortable sitting room.

Toilets are a few steps down the hall and the spacious bathroom on the ground floor is traditional Japanese family bathing epitomised.

It’s not all tradition only here though, there’s free WiFi in the lounge. Start each day with a continental breakfast before a short walk to the Yu Road if you are heading up to the slopes.

A simple self serve breakfast is included. The house does not feature a fully fitted kitchen but a kettle and microwave is available for your usage.

We will have on-site live-in housekeeping staff (not sharing the house’s facilities).

Located a minute by foot to the Yu-Road and moving walk towards Hikage gondola.

Himecho is located at the foot of the Yu Road moving walkway with direct access to the Hikage ski area, and is close to Ogama, the spiritual heart of the village.

    Within Himecho’s premises, you’ll also find a small intimate restaurant run by chef Kazuma Kameda. Chef Kazuma Kaneda conjures up elegant treats with the best of local ingredients.

    The attention to detail and creativity that has garnered Chef Kameda a following at Maison de Nature in Obuse-machi will now be showcased over the winter at Himecho.

    Our small intimate restaurant is perfect for a quiet elegant dinner for two or indeed, a group of friends/family seeking a private chef par excellence for a special celebration.

    Booking Terms

    Payments

    • 25% Deposit Payment required at the time of booking
    • 75% Balance Payment required no later than 75 days before the check in date

    Cancellation

    • Cancellation requests must be made via email (info [at] samuraisnow.com) or website contact form and reconfirmed by Samurai Snow before being considered a cancellation.
    • 76 or more days before check in date - 25% cancellation fee applies
    • Within 75 days of check in date - 100% cancellation fee applies

    Date Changes

    • Stay date change may be considered within the same winter season
    • Request for stay date changes must be made via email (info [at] samuraisnow.com) or website contact form more than 14 days before check in date and reconfirmed by Samurai Snow before being considered

    Check In / Out

    • Check in time is from 16:00 and check out time is from 10:00
    • Early check in and late check out can be requested and will be accommodated where the accommodation schedule allows
    • Early check in cannot be guaranteed in advance & late check out can only be confirmed the night before
