We are currently only able to book guiding tours for guests who have already booked accommodation with Samurai Snow.
The Niseko backcountry ski tours offer pure backcountry hiking access to some of Niseko’s best surrounding peaks or to Mount Yotei, the icon of Niseko.
They will keep you safe on the mountain with only 4 people per guide while discovering some of the most amazing, untracked powder, along with arguably the best tree skiing in the world and all the hidden gems that can only be found on a backcountry tour.
This tour can access some of the steepest terrain in the Niseko region and is aimed at getting you away from the crowds and into the best Niseko has to offer.
The bonus is you will avoid the lift lines and have a whole backcountry area to shred. Every line that goes in will either come from you or your friends – it’s the best feeling there is.
Introductory Backcountry Tours
We also offer introductory backcountry tours for those looking to get into touring in a safe and enjoyable way.
This is a safety focused, low-impact tour that will access some amazing terrain at a pace that suits you. They will help you prepare for a day in the backcountry and give you tips along the way to maximise your experience.
As a bonus, all of their experienced backcountry guides are also professional photographers so you will come away from the day with a range of amazing, high resolution images.

Who does this tour suit?
This tour is ideal for intermediate to advanced skiers or boarders who are looking to escape the resorts and start exploring everything the Niseko area has to offer.
They will tailor the tour to suit your needs – it can be a high-paced advanced tour with steep and deep lines, or an introductory to backcountry tour where we take it slower and show you how to travel safely in the backcountry while using your equipment effectively.
They’ll also ski and board at your level – you won’t feel like you’re being pushed above your comfort zone to keep up, nor will you be held back from unleashing your inner shredder.
